See Lady on a dark background.
It belonged to Paul Lefort. In 1922 it was in the possession of Edmond Gosselin, before passing to the Zdenko Bruck collection in Buenos Aires.
There are two proofs of state prior to the drypoint and burin belonging to the Lazaro Galdiano Foundation and to the Kupferstichkabinett in Berlin.
The engraving shows a musician playing a small guitar, seated on a stone and wearing a hat, in an attitude of singing, against a dark, neutral background. His expression with a lost gaze suggests that he may be a blind man.
Sayre relates it to a lost drawing from Album H, A Clergyman and Two Dominicans Singing, although there are other authors who relate it to the drawing Friar Guitarist, and to the Prisoners series.
