Historia
See Sad forebodings of what is to come.
This drawing, like the set of preparatory drawings for the rest of the engravings in the series, was part of the Carderera collection and subsequently passed to the Prado National Museum, where it is now kept.
Análisis artístico
Once again, as he did in other preparatory drawings for the series of engravings for The Disasters of War, Goya works with precision in depicting the monster from whose jaws naked bodies, probably corpses, protrude. However, the animal in the drawing is clearer than in the engraving, especially in the area of the hindquarters.
