Análisis artístico
This second sketch is much closer in appearance to the definitive painting. Goya has paid a great deal of attention to the design, cleaning up the composition. The figure of the priest has been lengthened, increasing the vertical axis of this pyramidal scheme, and the saint's face has been softened. He is holding the christogram which he used in his sermons and which became his traditional symbol.
