This drawing, along with the set of preparatory drawing for the rest of the prints in this series, formed part of the Carderera Collection and was subsequently acquired by the Prado Museum where it is currently housed.
In this drawing Goya prepares print no. 61, Perhaps they are of another breed (Si son de otro linaje), in great detail. The print is generally darker than the drawing, and the clothing of the figures depicted on the right-hand side of the print has changed from greyish to black. The face of the man begging for help in the centre of the drawing wears a more intense expression in the print, his features characterized by a spectral appearance that Goya emphasizes in the final work. Moreover, in the print the artist includes some women in the centre of the print in the background; he also adds various corpses to the left-hand side where in the drawing there was only one.
