Historia
See Sad forebodings of what is to come.
This drawing, like the set of preparatory drawings for the rest of the engravings in the series, was part of the Carderera collection and subsequently passed to the Prado National Museum, where it is now kept.
Análisis artístico
There are no substantial differences between the preparatory drawing and print no. 72 The results of the Disasters of War series.
Goya draws with precision the image of the body lying in the foreground, foreshortened towards the background, on which an animal, probably a vampire or a large bat, is preparing to suck its blood.
