This drawing, along with the set of preparatory drawing for the rest of the prints in this series, formed part of the Carderera Collection and was subsequently acquired by the Prado Museum where it is currently housed.
There are few notable changes in the print Thanks to the grass pea (Gracias á la almorta) in comparison to the preparatory drawing, in which Goya displays a scrupulous and precise technique in his detailed depiction of the figures. The only significant difference (apart from in the treatment of light, the print being notably darker than the drawing thanks to the use of aquatint) lies in the two figures situated behind the main group in the foreground. What appear to be two children with skeletal faces in the drawing become two women in eccentric clothing with haggard faces in the print. In the background on the left there is another group of people who have been omitted from the print and replaced with the vague silhouette of a bust.
