Inscripciones
View of the chapel of S. Isidro del Campo in Madrid, by Francisco Goya.
Historia
Preparatory drawing for the tapestry cartoon sketch The Chapel of San Isidro on his Feast Day.
The drawing belonged to the collection of the marquises of Casa Torres, the work's last known owners. It was never published and the family does not know what became of it.
Análisis artístico
Thanks to the description in the exhibition of drawings organized by the Society of Friends of Art we know that this drawing is a "sketch for the painting of the same name that formed part of the collection of the Duke of Osuna". The description places the figures in the foreground and the chapel in the background, which coincides perfectly with the mentioned oil sketch.
