This particular painting belongs to a private collection.
Análisis artístico
In the centre of the composition, Goya has painted a duck, its head resting on a curved surface. Its left wing is slightly raised and rigid, just as we see in other depictions of birds in this series of still lifes, which could indicate that the animal had only very recently died at the time of painting.
In this extremely stripped down, essential painting, the body of the duck is painted using short brushstrokes whilst the background is built up from thicker, more sweeping strokes.
For more information, see Pieces of Lamb.
